Home of the Greater Cape May Historical Society, this house was built in 1775. Originally a tavern and the family home of Revolutionary War patriot Memucan Hughes, the front room features a historic exhibit that changes every year. Several other rooms are always open to the public , all offering different information on the history and legend of the area.
This county museum is dedicated to the preservation and spread of knowledge regarding the rich history of Cape May and the surrounding area. There are a variety of exhibits, including furnishings, costumes, tools and decorative and practical objects from the 17th to 20th centuries. There is lots to explore at this beautiful museum.
Located beside the Cape May County Airport, this museum celebrates the naval and aviation history of the area. The Atlantic coast played an important role in the Second World War, and operations out of this site were frequent. Visitors can look through exhibits and the grounds, as well as take guided tours around the museum.
